How
should we send the needed information?
Information can
be sent to us in several ways. The information can be
sent via mail, fax, or scheduled pick-up
How often should we send
you information?
Information can
be sent as often as you like, but we do recommend a
weekly submission at the very least.
What kind of information
do you need in order to submit claims on our behalf?
A superbill,
patient information sheet, a copy of the front and back
of the patient's insurance card, and name of the
referring physician if necessary.
Can you submit electronic
claims to all insurance companies?
Most commercial
insurance companies, as well as Medicare, Medicaid and
BCBS, accept electronic claims. However, there are still
some companies that are not set-up to receive electronic
submissions. In these cases, the claim will be sent on
paper, at no additional cost.
Why should I
outsource my billing?
The American
Medical Association estimates it costs $7-$13 to file a
paper claim. Add to that the cost of hiring and training
staff, overhead personnel costs such as health insurance
benefits, sick leave, vacation, taxes, etc., extra
office space and equipment, fees for software updates,
clearinghouse, supply costs such as claim forms,
envelopes, postage, etc., and you can see how
outsourcing can greatly reduce your overhead costs and
benefit your practice.
Can you be HIPAA compliant
when outsourcing your billing?
Yes, Billing
Companies have the same obligation that you do in terms
of protecting PHI.
Were do my reimbursements
go?
All
remittances/payments, will go directly to your practice. |
Will you need to take
any patient charts out of my office?
No, patient
charts will never leave your facility. Occasionally
notes may be needed to appeal a claim, or in some cases
required with claim submission. If one of those
situations arise, we will let you know what the carrier
is requesting in order to have the claim processed
correctly. Will I need to purchase any software?
No,
ProMed Billing Services
has purchased all the software needed to automate your
office. You are not required to purchase any billing
software while using our services.
Does our practice have to
be a certain size?
No, we welcome
all practices, big and small, new and established. |
